Senator Obama, to me, seems to grasp this importance more clearly than Senator McCain, but both candidates need to clarify, in detail, their plans to implement policies to make up both for the wasted time of the last eight years of opportunity lost and provide an implementation plan, immediately, for the coming fifty years. The video present's one possible solution to consider, for curbing our current usage and dependency on fossil fuels; while creating new opportunities, such as employment for thousands of us Americans, hence coming to the aid of our present day sagging economy. A difficult issue for Americans and the candidates, to address with a solution that satisfies all; we are a nation that adheres to personal freedom and liberty, but we are also a nation where social norms play an important part of our lives, religion and government. We must, above all, preserve what our country is based upon "freedom and liberty", while not intruding on the rights of others, in this case, the majority of us who sanction a husband -- wife reunion. A change cannot and will not occur overnight when you consider the ramifications a same sex marriage has on legal system(s), schools, work environment and neighborhoods. We must know and understand how are candidates intend to provide a solution to this over due issue, instead of avoiding it, such as, our current administration as successfully accomplished. Our candidate's answers when we pose this issue to them must be comprehensive. The video outlines some of the concern state governments are rendering to this issue and presents a number of couples expounding upon their relationships with one another. I personally support Senator Obama and his proposed solution to this issue. The immigration issue is not an issue I can easily relate to, since I've resided in a country outside of America for the past fifteen years; but, after conversations with my family, friends and American expats in the country where I am living, I do understand the concerns my follow American country men have. On the other hand, living in a foreign country, I can also relate to the illegal immigrates in my home country of America trying to establish a living for themselves in a foreign land. For this above stated reason, it is beyond me to even propose an opinion on what should be implemented to resolve this important issue. However, I am definitely and strongly opposed to any type of "wall" or "fence" separating our borders from our neighbors. "Ich bin ein Berliner" (I am a Berliner) was spoken to the German people, by former President Kennedy in 1962, when standing in front of Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin wall. I felt the same, in 1989, when the wall fell down! This current administration has for the passed eight years marched us back in history at an extremely high price in our personal liberties, international pride and ruined our national economy. This wall or fence that is being constructed on our Mexican border represents to me the Berlin Wall of this young and new century, "it must be stopped". The video presents personal views, by Latinos', of their feelings of this country and the "wall". I support Senator Obama and his proposed solution to this issue.
